Ashish Rakheja founded AEON in 2015, after 23 years at Spectral Services Consultants, now AECOM India, where he rose to Chief Operating Officer. He holds a postgraduate degree in thermal engineering and has worked on building services for over thirty years.
By AEON's own count he has led the design of building services for more than 4,000 projects - hotels, airports, data centres, hospitals and high-rises among them - including eleven net zero energy buildings, two net zero water townships and over a hundred projects rated Platinum.
He has sat on ASHRAE's Board of Directors since 2019, as Director-at-Large, Vice President and Treasurer, and in June 2026 became its President-Elect. In India he convenes the Bureau of Indian Standards panel revising the air-conditioning, heating and ventilation section of the National Building Code, and its working group on green building services.
He teaches building services to architects and engineers, and has been visiting faculty at schools of architecture in Delhi.
